WILLIAMS LANDING HAS PICKED ITS PARK

13 October 2026

New and upgraded parks are coming to the Laverton Electorate after the community had their say in the second round of the Victorian Government’s $30 million Pick My Park program.

Minister for Precincts Nick Staikos and Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly today announced that Williams Landing will share in $250,000 for new and upgraded parks, from playground refreshes and more shade to new pocket parks and improved accessibility to make these spaces more welcoming for everybody.

More than 22,000 people voted for their favourite park projects from a list of 124 eligible projects across Melbourne, which were put forward by councils and land managers and assessed against the program guidelines, including demonstrating alignment with community priorities and feedback earlier this year.

The votes were split into five voting groups, ensuring funding is shared across Melbourne.

Wyndham City Council will receive $250,000 to deliver the Zone 5 East Local Park as part of the Greening the Pipeline project.

It will deliver a new playspace, picnic facilities, trees and landscaping will transform this section of the corridor into a vibrant place for play, relaxation, and connection.

This announcement follows the funding of 97 successful projects across Melbourne’s growing areas and the regional cities of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong in round one.
